I think I've finally figured out the negative vibes I get from this general area. Last weekend
i went down to columbia, MD to check out the Bilderbergs meeting in chantilly VA. I have
relatives in that area so i stayed there.

My cousin was staying at a hotel near Ellicott City so I stayed there the first night. His
hotel was located in an area with other hotels, and big three lane roads with traffic lights. There
was no bar in his hotel, so we had to search for one. Our local options were pretty pathetic.
either find another big chain hotel with a bar to drink at, or find the TGI Friday's. Nothing
small or cozy. We went with the hotel (I forget the name - some chain). We stuck around for one
drink and left and headed home. It was a waste of time.

The next morning I went to Chantilly. I was amazed at the amount of cars on the road in light
of the recent spike in oil. I guess inflation and high gas prices aren't an issue for the
wealthy  - and there are lots of extremely rich people. I made it to the Chantilly Marriot and
noticed heightened security to protect the Bilderbergs*. Also,  No Trespassing had been posted all around the hotel. I could not spot the protest if there was one that early.

Hot and a little frustrated with the drive and spending the gas money, I tried to find a
restaurant. I ended up at some glorified strip mall, nice trees and everything. If the
stripmall were to be removed, it could've been a national park. I guess those making great
livings off of our tax money prefer to mix nature with strip malls. There was a Sushi joint
there with a sushi buffett so i did that. It was okay.

Driving back to Columbia I couldn't help feel more than a little out of place here. This whole
area is crawling with folks that are bureaucrats, lobbyists for business, politicians and
military (you can feel it). These people lead good lives and have set themselves up. Those of us
who have to work for a living pay their salaries via taxes. It's a different class of people
down there, many of them. As luxurious and clean as much of this area is, you can't help but
have a sickening feeling about it.

I returned to Pennsylvania later that night.

*Bilderbergs are a secretive group of global elitists, politicians, and business people. Among
the members this year, Wolfowitz, Condaleeza Rice, Tom Daschle. It cuts both ways.
