I stopped in at the Bally Hotel last Wednesday afternoon. Driving down the main drag of Bally(not much of one), it was the only place that seemed appealing. I've heard stories of this place from other people regarding their St. Patrick's day festivities, so, I thought it might be an experience.
The insides are pretty nice and styled after Irish pubs. I don't know about the history of this place, but I imagine its probably got some good years behind it. The bar seemed to be well-crafted which gave it a nice warm cozy feel.
Their beer selections are pretty good too. I went with a Smithwick's which was served in a frosted pint glass. For lunch I went with a battered fried haddock sandwich. It was alright. It didn't stand out, but I was hungry and it hit the spot.
The service and personality of the bartender was great. She had a bit of an attitude, and she actually carded me. I haven't been carded in a while, so that was touching. It was definitely a good little stop to break up the week.
